Florence van de Ven
After retirement, Florence discovered a previously hidden artist’s talent. She says she was as shocked as Saul must have been on his way to Damascus. “This couldn’t be happening to me but it was happening to me!” Her first efforts were rather basic, but the seed had been planted. The autumn of her life has grown into the spring time of a new career. Florence paints with acrylics, a variety of animals and birds come to life with each painting becoming increasingly detailed. The fine lines bring texture, depth and realism to all her subjects. She has now expanded her subject matter to include her fond memories of early childhood on a farm. These memories are expressed in her detailed depiction of old barns and farm animals. Florence invites you to, “Come feel the country in the County.” |
